| GOD LISTENS Oh God, I was angry with you yesterday
I know you heard, when I began to pray
I cried to you with fear and desperation
I bared to you, my thoughts and emotion
I lift my eyes to the hill but no help came
And as I lay down, tears flowed like rain
I said oh God, what did I do so wrong
That I should be punished for so long
I heard my voice echoing off the wall
Oh Father, Oh Father, answer my call
No Angels came, and I began to weep
Abandoned and alone, I began to sleep
Don't know when you came to my bed
Didn't know that you cradled my head
But I dreamt, I saw a tear in your eye
I dreamt you said, little one don't cry
Don't think, I did not hear you pray
For things that came not right away
If only you understood, my little one
Why I've kept you waiting this long
You see, your hardship is a blessing
And you will look back at this lesson
Not with fear, just joy and laughter
Wait and see, my precious daughter
For I'm here with you, not up above
But you can't feel my abundant love
For when you hurt, I too feel the pain
Remember this when you see the rain
And I cry too, for your fear and hunger
Remember, when you hear the thunder
I'll walk with you, when you are alone
Remember this when you see a stone
And your heavy burdens, I will ease
Remember child, if you feel a breeze
I created the sky not just for the birds
But as a message, that prayers are heard
